In Loving Memory of Dr. Gerald N. Epstein

Dr. Gerald N. Epstein—Dr. Jerry, as many of us lovingly called him—was more than a teacher, mentor and friend to me; he was a guiding light, a healer of souls, and a true visionary. His wisdom was not just intellectual but deeply transformative, touching the very essence of those fortunate enough to learn from him.

Dr. Jerry had the rare ability to see beyond the surface of things. He taught us that the mind is not just a thinking machine but a sacred bridge to healing, to wisdom, and to a life fully lived. Through his groundbreaking work in mental imagery, he helped countless individuals, including myself, tap into the power of their own consciousness—unlocking potential, restoring health, and finding meaning where there once was confusion.

Yet, amidst all his depth and wisdom, what made him even more remarkable was his wit. Dr. Jerry had a sharp, playful humor that could disarm even the most skeptical mind. He knew how to weave profound teachings with laughter, making learning not just enlightening but genuinely enjoyable. Whether it was a perfectly timed joke or a clever observation, his humor made every conversation and lesson all the more memorable.

More than his teachings, it was his presence that left an indelible mark on my heart. He carried himself with a blend of warmth and clarity, a master at balancing profound insight with a deeply human touch. Whether through his words, his books, or his mere presence, he imparted lessons that went far beyond medicine or psychology—they were lessons in how to be truly alive.

Dr. Jerry’s legacy lives on, not only in the pages of his writings or the halls of AIMI but in the hearts of all of us who were blessed to know him. His work, his vision, and his unwavering dedication to the healing power of the mind will continue to inspire generations.

I am forever grateful for the time I had with him, for the wisdom he shared, for the laughter he brought into even the most profound discussions, and for the love and care he poured into his life’s work. Dr. Jerry, your light still shines within us. Thank you for everything.
